SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Savannah Mall decked the halls with the area's largest Christmas tree.

Santa Claus himself made the trip all the way from the North Pole to get the holiday season started a little early.

The 50-foot tall tree is decked out with red and silver ornaments and over 500,000 twinkling LED lights.

In addition to Santa setting up shop, the special edition "Rio Grande Train" also made an appearance.

"We're all kids at heart out here even though we're retailers. We enjoy seeing them out here, so we love having kids. I know Santa's going to love seeing the kids out here. He really enjoys it," said Savannah Mall General Manager Phil McConnell.

You can find Mr. Claus at the mall from now until Christmas Eve.

There are also a ton of other festivities planned throughout the holiday season at the mall. For more information, click here.
