Change of Responsibility ceremony held at Fort Stewart

FORT STEWART (WTOC) -

The 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Stewart has a new Command Sergeant Major.

Outgoing Command Sergeant Major Christopher Gilpin passed on his duties to incoming Command Sergeant Major Walter Tagalicud in a change of responsibility ceremony. Gilpin has served as the division Command Sergeant Major since April 2014. He says leaving Fort Stewart for his next post is bittersweet.

"Our soldiers have met every mission requirement both domestically and as they deploy. It is just awesome always knowing that our soldiers will execute to the highest standard and accomplish their assigned mission in the war, so great leaders, great soldiers, great family support, great community support and that is something I will forever be thankful and grateful for,” said Maj. Gilpin.

Incoming Command Sergeant Major Tagalicud's most recent assignment was as Command Sergeant Major, 3rd Brigade, 101st Airborne Division.
