SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A taste of the holidays started Monday at Savannah's Westin.
Judging for the 15th annual Gingerbread Village competition began early Monday as three winners were picked in each of the three divisions.
Taking home the prize for the youth competition, Anne Marie Widdon, with her "Pink Christmas" display. Lacey Bragg with "A Starry Night Christmas" won the teen competition and "The Polar Express" by Jade Rowland won the top prize in the adult division.
"The grand prize on the adult side actually won $1,500.So an opportunity to make a merrier Christmas for them. The children actually get money for their classroom to be able to go out and do projects. So anywhere from $50 to $150," said Savannah Westin General Manager Mark Spadoni.
You can enjoy all the gingerbread houses on display at the Westin. The event is open to the public, but it's recommended to make a reservation if you're with a large group.
You can find the gingerbread displays in the lobby starting this Wednesday and running through Dec. 30th.
