Car stolen while victim used ATM on West Bay Street

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department's Robbery Unit is trying to identify the suspects who stole a vehicle from a bank on the 3500 block of West Bay Street late Monday night.

SCMPD responded at about 10:52 p.m. Investigators learned the victim left his 2013 Chevrolet Impala running while using the ATM. Two male suspects arrived in a Beige Pontiac Grand Prix.

According to police, one suspect reportedly entered the victim's car and drove away.

No injuries were reported.

One suspect is a black male with a dark complexion, possibly in his mid-20s. He wore a black sweater during the incident. The second suspect's description is unknown. Both vehicles were last seen driving east on Bay Street.

To reduce the odds of auto theft, SCMPD suggests locking vehicles at all times, never leaving keys in unoccupied vehicles and parking in highly illuminated locations after dark.
