A Bluffton woman is facing charges after a three-vehicle crash took place on Interstate 16 on Thursday.
It happened around noon, near Exit 132. According to the Georgia State Patrol, Aracelli Camargo of Bluffton was driving a white Jeep that crossed the median and struck two other cars.
The crash sent Camargo’s two passengers to the hospital, as well as two people from another car.
A detour was set up on eastbound I-16 at the Statesboro exit (127) for over an hour.
Officials say this is a reminder for drivers to be extra cautious during the busiest travel days of the year.
"They need to pay attention while they are driving. Believe it or not, we've had people who were driving by here who were taking pictures while they were driving by the scene. They were more worried about the blood and gore than they were about paying attention to where they were going,” said Cpl. Rusty Rankin, GSP.
