SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Savannah Children's Choir held one of their two annual spaghetti suppers to help raise money for their traveling choirs.
This dinner in particular will help the premiere choir raise enough money to get to Ireland in June to perform. Organizers say this is the eighth year of traveling for the choir.
"It's part of our mission and what we do. We like for our children to know that music is an international language, and for many of our children it is the first time they are ever leaving Chatham County. So, travel is important. Having a passport as a child, seeing the world is something we do and we like to share our gifts of singing with those around the world," said Cuffy Sullivan, Co-Founder, Savannah Children's Choir.
They will be holding another dinner in the spring for their other traveling choir. They are going to Ashville, North Carolina in May.
