HINESVILLE, GA (WTOC) - The Christmas spirit was in full swing Monday night in Liberty County.
The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau held the 9th annual "Christmas in the Park". The popular family friendly event attracts tons of visitors every year.
There was lots of things to see and do, most of which were free. Santa and Frosty the Snowman also stopped by and there was a petting zoo for kids.
"I think it really starts the holiday season for Liberty County, that's one of the reason the Chamber does this event every year. It really does bring people together, we've seen just on the Facebook page that we started for this event. It had 22,000 people so far who have seen the traffic on that page, which is pretty impressive to me," said Liberty County Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Officer Leah Pooler.
The festivities wrapped up Monday evening with the Christmas tree lighting, accompanied by live music from several area children's choirs.
