Kevin Benderman says his attorney gave him a letter saying the investigator in his case recommends denying his request. More >>
A Third Infantry Division soldier stationed at Fort Stewart, who is seeking to be discharged as a conscientious objector, is one step closer to a possible court-martial.
Yesterday, Sgt. Kevin Benderman was arraigned on charges he deserted and missed the movement of his unit when it deployed in January.
A general court-martial has been scheduled for May 11. Sgt. Benderman also filed his rebuttal yesterday to an investigating officer's recommendation that the Army deny the conscientious objector application.
