The Savannah-Chatham police officers who are members of the "cops in the coolers" program are now stepping up activities in downtown Savannah, trying to stop street robberies.
During the early morning hours, police let us ride along with them as they concentrated their efforts on Forsyth Park. An undercover man and woman officer posed as tourists walking through the park, while around them other plain clothes officers kept a close watch.
Although there were no arrests, police are putting out the word that, from now on, would be-robbers will never know who they'll be holding up.
If suspects do strike one of the decoy operations, take-down officers will be right there to catch them.
