Clyde's Markets donates to 'Survivor Outreach Services' program

Clyde's market donates to survivor outreach services program.

FORT STEWART (WTOC) - A local company is lending a helping hand to military families struck by tragedy.

Wednesday, the owners of Clyde's Markets presented a check for $20,000 to Fort Stewart's Survivor Outreach Services. The program helps loved ones of soldiers killed in action.

It helps families through counseling and support groups. They raised the money through their annual golf tournament.

"We just serve as the connection. We get our vendors together and we get our customers together and rally around this program," said Greg Woolard, Clyde's Markets.

"The money donated to Survivor Outreach Services by private groups goes to that very special population that we as a division, as an Army, as a military should never, ever forget," said Col. Townley Hendrick, Garrison Commander.

The tournament took place in April on Jekyll Island.
