Fire engine struck by bullet on White Bluff Road

CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

We have received new photos into the WTOC 24-hour Newsroom from a viewer of the bullet holes in the windshield of a Savannah Fire truck.

Firefighters were returning to their station from a call, just before 6 p.m. Saturday, when a bullet shattered the windshield of the truck.

They were traveling north on White Bluff Road, just south of Wilshire Boulevard when it happened. The bullet ricocheted against the inside of the windshield and landed on the dashboard.

Two firefighters were hit with shattered glass, but they were not hurt.

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police detectives are still trying to figure out where the shot came from.
