Willie Fritz accepts job at Tulane
STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern Director of Athletics Tom Kleinlein announced Friday that Willie Fritz has accepted the head coaching position at Tulane University.
“On behalf of Georgia Southern University, I want to thank Willie for his two years of leadership,” Kleinlein said. “We have a long history of success here and I know that we will find a great coach to continue that winning tradition. With our passionate fan base, great facilities and the student-athletes in and committed to this program, Georgia Southern is an attractive position.”
While no specific timeline has been assigned to the hiring process, a national search for Fritz’s successor has already begun.
No determination has been made on who will coach the Eagles in the upcoming GoDaddy Bowl on Dec. 23 in Mobile, Alabama, against Bowling Green.
