Benedictine makes massive food donation to America's Second Harvest

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Cadets at Benedictine Military School helping those in need this holiday season with their annual canned food drive.

Benedictine’s goal was to collect 9,500 food items to donate to America’s Second Harvest Food Bank. They did that, and more. They collected 11,922 food items to be exact over the course of their campaign.

"This is a tradition. The boys at this school have been doing this for us for over 20 years. It is absolutely something that we can count on every single year. We know that they are going to pull through and get us food that will last us through the winter,” said Emily Good, America’s Second Harvest Food Bank.

The school also donated $2,222.52 to the food bank.
