Santa Claus stopped by Sound Start School

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The students at Sound Start, a school for children 2 to 6 years old who are deaf or hard of hearing, got to hang out with Santa Clause Friday.

Of course he came bearing gifts.

The students learn how to use communication technique called "Auditory Oral", in which they actually speak, listen and understand, and despite all of the fun Friday, they did learn a valuable lesson.

"This event today is learning vocabulary about Christmas, Santa, gifts, exchanging those gifts, just a lot of socialization," said Tracy Edenfield, teacher at Sound Start.

Sound Start School was started in 2007 by the Savannah Speech and Hearing Center. It's the first of its kind in our area.
