SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The popular Swedish furniture company, IKEA, stopped by the Coastal Empire Monday to drop off donations to the community.
From dressers to mattresses, storage and houseware items, the Austin House is getting a makeover. The Austin House provides housing for homeless families in Chatham County.
Organizers didn't realize the company would be bringing so many items and they say it was much needed.
"It's all about giving back at the Old Savannah City Mission. We receive so many just great blessings all the time and especially during this time of year, is just such a wonderful thing for us to be able to give back to the community and helping those who are in need," said Connell Stiles, Old Savannah City Mission.
A total of 12 family units will be upgraded with new furniture from IKEA.
