SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - In spite of the headlines that seem to plague the media these days, acts of kindness and generosity are far more frequent than those of hate and violence.
We understand the preponderance of bad news on most days can get overwhelming, even disheartening, but even with all the issues that have played out on TV recently, the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry is by and large a great place to live, work and raise a family.
There is good being done in all of our communities every day and this year, we at WTOC will be committed to sharing those good stories with you, our viewers. With the start of this New Year we will institute a daily segment called Good News.
These stories will feature people, places and events aimed at reminding all that there is so much more good than bad around us, and help us to restore some of the balance to our newscasts.
Of course we'll still be exhaustive in our coverage of urgent and breaking news. In addition, I will begin a second weekly editorial focused on those Good News stories.
So that's our Good News and we look forward to sharing it with you.
