Little girl from Rincon receives AmTryke from Savannah Ambucs

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A very special little girl received a special new bike on Tuesday night.

7-year-old Ella Bothwell from Rincon was given an AmTryke  from Savannah Ambucs at the Bicycle Link on West Victory Drive. Little Ella fell in love with the three wheeler while she was undergoing treatment for a brain tumor at St. Jude's.

She asked her parents if she could get one when she got home, and through the magic of Facebook, it was delivered!

"They posted it on Facebook, and I mean it was an 11 day turnaround from the time we measured her to her getting a bike," said Kevin Sheehan, president of Savannah Ambucs.

"This is freedom for her which she has not had. She sits at our kitchen table a lot and colors and crafts because that's what she's able to do and our son goes out, who's 8-years-old, and rides his bike and she wants to do that so bad. So this provides an opportunity for her to get out," said Kristine Bothwell, Ella's mom.

Ella is undergoing treatment for a Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, or DIPG Brain Tumor. Her parents say everything has been rushed because of her illness.
