SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Elected officials all across Georgia met in Savannah Wednesday night to discuss the issue of infrastructure investment.
Significant progress has been made, but in order for it to continue, state officials say they need feedback from local businesses.
In town, Senator Tommie Williams, Representative Christian Coomer and Georgia Department of Transportation Board Member Ann Purcell. The forums are being held to discuss key transportation topics prior to the 2016 legislative session.
"There's some new construction, building new capacity and things like widening additional lanes to I-16. It frankly had a lot of fatalities because that project has not been done. You know, you can't bring that many people in to a city that's already congested without enough road capacity," said Senator Tommie Williams, (R-Lyons).
The week-long forum series continues Thursday in Augusta before wrapping up Friday in Dalton.
