Former CAT Executive Director pleads not guilty to kickback scheme, bribe charges

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Former Chatham Area Transit Authority Executive Director Chadwick Reese pleaded not guilty Wednesday to a federal indictment charging him in a bribery and kickback scheme to rig bids for CAT contracts. 

Reese and Joel Morris, CAT Director of Maintenance, were named in a nine-count indictment Dec. 2nd and voluntarily surrendered the following day. They are free on $50,000 bonds.

Meanwhile, Morris has reached a plea agreement with prosecutors in the case against him.
