CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) - Hoverboards, which were a popular Christmas gift, are not being allowed on college campuses throughout the country.
Including some in our area.
Just this week, Armstrong State University banned hoverboards in residential areas on campus. The university is expecting to expand the ban to include the entire campus, soon.
School officials say they've had no reported incidents involving hoverboards so far. They're simply trying to prevent them.
Savannah College of Art and Design says they consider hoverboards to be like bikes. You can't be using them inside school or residential buildings, but there is no ban in place.
As of now, Savannah State University does not have any hoverboard bans on campus. However, one could be coming in the coming days. Same with Georgia Southern University.
