For years, we've seen and heard the work of Rev. Michael Guido. Now the church is lending him a hand. For decades, the Sower has recorded sermons in Metter and sent them around the world. He's offset his ministry's costs through donations and speaking engagements.
But recent health problems have kept him off the road, so New Life Baptist Church in Metter is hosting a golf tournament this Saturday to raise money to help the minister who's never solicited a dime.
"They can just show up Saturday morning, because we have team spots available for the 8am flight," said the church's Jan Woodside.
The 2005 Guido Golf and Gala is this Saturday, March 19, at 8am at Willow Lake Golf and Country Club in Metter.
The cost is $100 per person.
For more information or to make a donation, the numbers are 912.685.9700 (New Life Baptist Church) or 685.2725.
