ACA open-enrollment event held at Bull Street Library

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The last Affordable Care Act open enrollment event was Tuesday night at the Bull Street Library.

Curtis V. Cooper Primary Health, J.C. Lewis Primary Health and the Chatham County Safety Net Planning Council were also there to help uninsured adults enroll, along with providing information on Peach Care for Kids and Medicaid all for free.

"It's a wonderful feeling for us all to know that we've been able to help a family--especially when there's children involved, to know that these children have coverage, they can get their immunizations and their well visits- is very rewarding to us all because that's one less child that we have to worry about possibly being injured and their family taking on a huge financial burden because they don't have any coverage,” said Latoya Brannen, care coordinator for Chatham Safety Net.

Enrollment for the Affordable Care Act ends January 31st and enrolling by the 15th means February 1st coverage.
