CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) - One local business is growing Tuesday after a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Oakley Transportation Group unveiling its newest service: dry bulk transportation. The announcement was made with one of the company's largest customers, Imperial Sugar, and partner, Qualawash.
In addition to the expansion, Oakley will now have the opportunity to recruit driving professionals from other areas of transportation.
"We're now actually going to start hauling dry products- food grade products- to a lot of the same clients that we have participated and served in the last 25-years in the liquid food business," said Vice President of Operations and Strategic Initiatives, Craig Stephens.
"Our product is food. We're 100 percent food grade haulers and the integrity of their product is our upmost concern," said Director of Customer Relations Matt Tocci.
The company's goal for the new dry bulk division is to operate 50 tanks and 25 trucks by this April.
