CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) - The Transportation Security Administration tells WTOC they found a loaded gun at a checkpoint on Wednesday.
The loaded .40 caliber pistol was discovered in a passenger's carry-on bag at around 8 a.m. on Wednesday.
TSA immediately alerted airport police, who took possession of the bag and arrested the passenger on state charges.
Firearms may be transported in checked baggage, unloaded and with permission from the airline but they are prohibited in carry-ons.
This is the second firearm to be confiscated in 2016. Only six were found last year.
