Child and Family Studies training initiative between Armstrong, Savannah Country Day

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Armstrong State University's College of Education and Savannah Country Day School have launched a new program.

Through the 'Child and Family Studies' training initiative, some Armstrong students will get to work directly with Country Day faculty and have classroom access and on-site experience.

In addition, faculty at Country Day will be able to take professional development classes at Armstrong.

"The more we talked to them about it, the more we saw it not only as a great opportunity for our students to learn from professionals at Armstrong, for our faculty to get professional development experiences with their faculty, but also as a way for us to give back to the Savannah community. For us to support Armstrong's efforts and for us to the greater good,” said SCDS Head of School Kef Wilson.

Armstrong currently has four students interning at Country Day School this semester and six students placed for Fall 2016.
