Hwy 21 in Port Wentworth reopened after wood line fire from blown transformer

PORT WENTWORTH, GA (WTOC) -

According to the Chatham County Emergency Management Agency, southbound Highway 21 near Rice Hope Plantation was closed due to a wood line fire from a blown transformer. 

Over 1,000 Georgia Power customers were without power near Rice Hope Plantation due to the blown transformer, according to a Georgia Power official on scene.
