16th annual Lowcountry Home and Garden show

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

According the National Association of Home Builders, in 2014 the average zip code spent $5 million in home improvements.

If you are just thinking of sprucing up the homestead, hundreds of vendors are in one location for you.

The 16th annual Lowcountry Home and Garden show is at the Savannah Trade and Convention Center. Whether you know what you want to do in or around your home, this is a great place to get ideas.

"So you don't have the brick and mortar anymore. You don't pay the rent for a building that's one place with one set of customers, so you can go to different venues and get different clientele, and your rent is your booth space so it's really a neat idea,” said Lela Smith, vendor from Atlanta.

The pros have some great booths and information sessions. If you don't have a lot a money, but think you have the know-how, there are DIY seminars.

“The real advantage is there's a lot of discounts and giveaways. So if you're looking to do HVAC systems they're offering an in-show discount,” said SE Regional Manager of Show Bonnie Myers.

"You can see everything instead of going to all the stores, its right here. It’s more convenient,” said Winn Debra, Jesup.

This can be a real family outing, too. It's not just plants and tile. Jasper Animal Rescue is here, because home could mean adding a pet.
