SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah firefighters aren't just fighting fires.

They are also helping a Savannah-Chatham Metro Police officer fight cancer.

The Savannah Professional Firefighters Association is selling special grey and purple t-shirts to raise money for Sgt. John Cain.

Sgt. Cain made international headlines after he grabbed the arm of an injured runner at the Rock n' Roll Marathon in Savannah last November and together they crossed the finish line. A month later, Sgt. Cain was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

The t-shirts are being sold for $20 to help with Sgt. Cain's medical expenses. They are available at Savannah Fire headquarters/Station 3 at 121 E. Oglethorpe Ave.

The shirts will be sold as long as supplies last.
