SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

An author, activist and founding chairman of the Black Panther Party spoke to a packed crowd at Savannah State University on Monday.

At the free event, Bobby Seale addressed the topic, "Writing a Social Movement: Revolutionary Human Liberation for the 21st Century." Seale's appearance is part of a series of guest lectures presented by The Write Attitude, an on-campus program that works to enhance students' attitudes about writing.

"In dealing with human liberation, the human liberation struggle, as it continues, that's very important. Education is 50 percent of your liberation in the first place,” said Seale. 

Following Monday’s lecture, everyone in attendance had the opportunity to take pictures and have their books signed by Seale.
