SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - On Sunday, Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church held their 21st "Savannah's Valentine's Day Marriage Vow Renewal Ceremony" at City Market.
The free event was open to any married couple, attracting both locals and visitors alike. Reverend Billy Hester, who served as the wedding officiant, says this vow renewal is more important to many couples than their original wedding vows because now they truly know what it means to share a life with the person they love.
"We've been married 45 years so we've been together a long time, a lot of Valentine's Days together," said Suzan Mussino. "I'll marry this guy again another 45 times."
Her husband Emil says the secret to a successful marriage is always doing what he's told to do.
Organizers say more than 50 couples renewed their vows at the event.
