Springtime Made in the South: Trump requests patriotic item

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The Springtime Made in the South event kicked off Friday in Savannah at the International Trade and Convention Center.

More than 240 vendors are selling all handcrafted items from clothing, to jewelry, to art.

As WTOC toured the booths, we stumbled across a lady who said she just got a call from a representative of one the presidential candidates, requesting one of her homemade items for the Republican Primary on Saturday.

"We were contacted by Trump Central and they want to use my American Pride candle lantern on stage with him," said Ruthi Haner, Awe Humbugz.

Haner is rushing the patriotic candle to Donald Trump and hopes it’ll make it in time.

Made in the South continues Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Admission is $7 and parking is free.
