19 new deputies join CCSO after completing training

CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

The Chatham County Sheriff's Office has 19 new officers.

Monday, Interim Sheriff Roy Harris recognized the new officers for completing their Basic Jail Officer Training. The training teaches the officers professionalism, ethics, inmate rights as well as emergency medical procedures and defense tactics.

One of the new officers explains what it is like to go through the program.

"We actual built a very relationship. Before, when we first got here, they said this is a family, and I can honestly say that through the motivation that we all motivated each other through the class. We have built a bond of brothers and sisters,” said new graduate and Class President Glen Campbell.

Monday, the men and women took their Oath of Service in front of family and friends, completing their training.
