CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

The 2016 American Traditions Competition continued Monday at Skidaway Island United Methodist Church.

It runs through Thursday, but Monday and Tuesday mark the quarter final rounds.

On Sunday, WTOC took you to the kickoff and featured performances by previous winners and this year's judges.

Fourteen contestants are competing in several rounds hoping to make it to the finals.

"We still celebrate American music and require of our contestants that they sing nine songs, in three programs. Each of a different genre of music so they have to be varied,” said Artistic Consultant Vale Rideout.

The gold medal winner will be presented a contract to work as a soloist with the Savannah Philharmonic.

The quarter finals continue Tuesday at Skidaway Island United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Semifinals are Wednesday and a free Master Class performance and finals are Thursday at the Savannah Theatre.
