SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The trial of Torrey Scott will go for at least one more day after the jury was dismissed during deliberations on Thursday afternoon.

Many were expecting a verdict to be handed up Thursday, but we’ll have to wait on that decision at least until Friday. One of the juror’s had a prior out-of-town obligation, so the judge released the jury around 3 p.m.

They began deliberating around 10:30 a.m. after asking to review the audio recordings of jail phone calls. Despite objection from the defense, the judge allowed the jurors to hear the recording once more and reminded them to consider all the evidence as a whole.

Again, Scott is facing 28 felony counts and is charged with the rape of four women and the murder of one of those women. Those three separate cases spanned from late 2013 into early 2014

Judge Freesemann again stressed that is important for the jurors to not discuss the case with anyone, especially now that they are in the middle of deliberations.

Court will resume at 9:30 a.m. on Friday.
