SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

If you love Girl Scout Cookies, then this is the weekend for you!

Friday marks the beginning of National Girl Scout Weekend, and The Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia are holding a competition to find the most creative eatery in the area.

Twenty local restaurants, cafes, and more are creating their own dessert or savory dish by using Girl Scout Cookies in the recipe.

They all were judged by a panel Friday and you can vote over the weekend by trying each one at the places they are being made.

Not only is this a fun way for the Scouts to get involved with the community, they're getting experience that will help them later in life.

"They're learning people skills, they're learning financial literacy skills, they're learning skills that will last them a life time and help them with whatever they choose to do in their future,” said Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia CEO, Sue Else.

WTOC’s Don Logana was a judge in Friday’s event.
