Driving Miss Norma: Her Savannah visit

Driving Miss Norma: Her Savannah visit

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A 90-year-old woman is on the trip of a lifetime, and chose to stop through Savannah. Miss Norma is making national news for her incredible story.

This trip started with some bad news. Miss Norma was recently diagnosed with uterine cancer. She decided she didn't want to die in a hospital, and told the doctor she was hitting the road. And she did.

She loaded up in an RV with her son and daughter-in-law in northern Michigan, and they're going wherever she wants to go. They were in our area on Tuesday. They stopped by Tybee and watched a beautiful sunset. They ate at North Beach Bar and Grill, and dug into some crawfish at the Crab Shack. They took a carriage tour downtown to learn about Savannah's rich history. Miss Norma even decided to get her very first pedicure in Savannah.

Her family says she isn't in any pain, and is having a great time visiting.

You should know, choosing this trip over treatment was not a decision they say they took lightly, and they made it with the support of her doctor.
