SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department's Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating after a motorcycle and a car collided Tuesday night, causing serious injuries to the motorcyclist.

Metro responded to the two-vehicle wreck around 6 p.m., in the 6800 block of Abercorn. Police say 28-year-old Brandon Davis was trying to change lanes on northbound Abercorn, when his Toyota Camry struck the right side of a Kawasaki motorcycle, driven by 22-year-old Isiah Barron. The car forced the motorcycle into the curb, and Barron was thrown from the motorcycle into a utility pole.

Barron suffered serious injuries and was transported to Memorial, where he remains in serious condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
