CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources has granted the Marine Event Permit requested by Paramount Worldwide Productions for the filming of a chase scene for their upcoming movie “Baywatch.”

Earlier this month, we heard from some residents living along the inlet off Chimney Creek in Chatham County who expressed concern that the high-speed scene in a no-wake zone could cause permanent damage to the environment and docks.

The permit comes with conditions though. Only jet-skis will be allowed on the channel, and a police presence will be required at the expense of the production company.
