LIBERTY CO., GA (WTOC) -

If you buy and sell things online on sites like EBay or Craigslist, you've seen the warnings about people who've been assaulted or killed when they met the other person.

People in Liberty County now have a secure place to make those deals.

We've all heard horror stories of online transactions going horribly wrong when they come face to face, including one in Central Georgia. The Liberty County Sheriff wants people to know they have a place they can make those transactions, outside the jail.

He says there's a camera trained on a spot and there are people here all the time. He says it can also be the place for tense child custody exchanges such as visitation.

He wants people to know they have a place they can be safe.

“There's always a person inside that door and one of our cameras that's recording everything and it is being monitored 24/7,” said Liberty County Sheriff Steve Sikes.

The sheriff cautions people, if someone doesn't want to make the transaction here or someplace this public, you might want to rethink the deal.
