STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) -

At most blood drives, you give because you know you're helping someone, somewhere out there.

At this one, you meet the adorable little girl you're helping.

Irelynn Rose, 6, does more than act as a greeter at these Red Cross blood drives. She thanks the donors.

Doctors diagnosed her with a rare condition called Diamond Blackfan Anemia when she was just five weeks old. She relies on blood transfusions every three to five weeks to survive.

The turnout at each and every drive still amazes Irelynn's mother, as people donate to help keep her daughter alive.

“She's now getting her 98th blood transfusion tomorrow. So to see so many people from the community show up - some of them we don't even know - is very heart warming,” said Melissa Rose, mother.

This drive wraps up at 6:30 p.m. so you've got a little time left to come by the Spring Hill Suites on the bypass at Highway 67 in Statesboro.
