STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) - A meeting for veterans is just wrapping up in Statesboro.
Congressman Rick Allen held one of his town hall meetings with veterans. He took questions from veterans on issues they're having with their health insurance and medical treatment from the Veterans Administration.
He says he's pushing to force the VA to sub-contract "some" medical services to get veterans faster access to diagnosis and treatment, as well as eliminate some of the red tape.
"Until the VA gets there act together, all I can do it take complaints and file them with the VA, and keep filing them," said Rep. Allen.
Allen thinks competition from the private sector would force the VA to improve its patient service.
