SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Did you hear the Good News this week?

O.C. Welch got a tremendous honor from the Ford Motor Company this week. O.C is only one of three dealers in the country to receive the 2016 Salute to Dealers. O.C. was recognized for his commitment to our community.

Among his contributions of note are his support of BC, Bacon Park and the 200 Club of Savannah. We salute O.C. for this well-deserved high praise.

Also this week, some high praise for some Lowcountry high school students.

On Monday, the Heritage Classic Foundation awarded eight Beaufort County students with college scholarships.

The scholarships are just one form of the Heritage Classic Foundation's charitable contribution in the Lowcountry, which has exceeded $32 million in the last 30 years.

And Chatham County Sheriff's Deputy Matthew Stephenson is being hailed as a hero this week. Deputy Stephenson had just finished his shift when Kenneth Campbell collapsed in the parking lot of the Sheriff's Office.

Stephenson said his military and law enforcement training kicked in and he began performing CPR. The deputy's quick actions were a life saver, and Campbell said he will be forever grateful.
