SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The Next Generation held its "Make it Happen" Friend Drive at B&D Burgers in Downtown Savannah.

The volunteer organization was founded to benefit the Children's Hospital at Memorial. One hundred percent of the money raised from their events and contributions go directly to patient care.

Thursday, everyone was invited to come out and learn more about joining and providing support.

"Our mission, honestly, is to just simply brighten the lives of the children and their families who are staying in the hospital... and that could be an extended length of time,” said The Next Generation President Jamie Lane.

"As a doctor, I know that medicine can only do so much. It's really the support that you have and everybody there surrounding you,” said Yael Elfassy, supporting The Next Generation.

The Next Generation holds a lot of events like this one throughout the year, including the Summer Soiree in June and Happily Ever After Ball next spring.
