HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (WTOC) - A small, single engine prop airplane had to make an emergency landing shortly after 4 p.m. on the 11th fairway of Dolphin Head golf course in Hilton Head Plantation.
The airplane sustained damage, but there were no injuries reported.
The pilot and passenger were reportedly coming back to Hilton Head after a trip when they were forced to make an emergency landing.
The Federal Aviation Administration has been notified. At this time, it is anticipated by the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office that the FAA will assume the investigation into the cause of the crash.
