CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) - For the seventh year in a row, West Chatham Middle School was awarded for the Dollars for Disaster Campaign.
Friday, students were recognized by the American Red Cross of Southeast and Coastal Georgia.
West Chatham raised the most money out of all the schools for Dollars for Disaster.
Despite the trophies, they say the best award is knowing they are helping out the community.
"We have a good time but also, it's personal too. Because we have had students who were victims of fire. And particularly this year, we had a teacher that lost her home to a fire. She lost everything. So we take this very personal," said Lisa Roberson, West Chatham Middle School.
In total, West Chatham raised almost $5,000.
