SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A very rare and big honor Thursday at the Savannah Law School.

Students and faculty welcomed the Supreme Court of Georgia.

The justices heard oral arguments of two appeals cases at the law school.  Most of the time they hear these cases in Atlanta; however, in some instances, and when invited, they choose to hit the road.

"When we had the opportunity to come we seized it. We're here. We have two good cases to hear, I think, and we think it will add to the educational experience of those students who witness," said Chief Justice Hugh Thompson, Supreme Court of Georgia.

After the oral arguments, there was a building dedication ceremony for the new law school on Drayton Street.

The Savannah Law School graduated its first class last year.
