PEMBROKE, GA (WTOC) - The Pembroke Police Department tells WTOC two people are in jail on drug charges following a traffic stop.
Police say the driver, 27-year-old Jeremy Taylor and passenger 24-year-old Cassandra Hendrix, face a number of charges Friday.
After the officer discovered marijuana, meth, 200 individual prescription pills, digital scales, packaging materials, a loaded handgun and a large amount of cash.
The Pembroke Police chief says the arrest took some time, but he is happy to get these two off the streets.
"It is unusual for us, but we are really cracking down on. Earlier that day we had also made four other drug related arrests on arrest warrants. And this just happened to top it off that afternoon. We are really cracking down on it, but it took as a little while to gather the information that we needed," said Pembroke Police Chief Randy Alexander.
Taylor and Hendrix are being held at the Bryan County Jail.
