SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Wednesday, the interim director of the Savannah Film Office talked to downtown business owners and operators about the money to be made by pairing up with the film industry.
When production companies for movies or a T.V. series come to Savannah to say "action," they look first to make sure that they'll have all the necessary accommodations for their cast and crew.
The Savannah Film Office wants to get as many Downtown Savannah businesses on board to offer up anything from food services to hotel rooms, to help make the Hostess City a better host to the film industry, and bring more money to the local economy.
"That is very valuable. That is the main thing that's been missing over the years. They don't feel they can get everything they need here. They feel they are going to have to bring materials, equipment, supplies in from Atlanta or other places. So, if we can have that here, ready to go and they know it's here, that will save them a lot of money and make it more desirable to be here," said Interim Film Services Director Beth Nelson.
Any business can go on the film offices website to list the services they can provide to production crews.
