CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

Overcrowding at Gadsden Elementary is forcing some students to be rezoned for Hodge Elementary starting in the fall.

Wednesday, the Savannah Chatham County Public School Board approved relocating 139 students - who live in the area around Ogeechee, MLK and West 37th street.

All of the families impacted by this change have been notified and a public meeting was held Tuesday night.

But officials are concerned that many folks are still not aware of the change.

"I wish we had had a better attendance last night and what that tells is we are going to have to spend the rest of the spring and summer communicating with parents so that on the first day of school, we don't have kids who don't know,” said Cornelia Hall, SCCPSS District 3.
