A safe stolen earlier this week in a fast food restaurant robbery has been recovered. On Monday, the safe was stolen from Burger King on Abercorn Street and Mercy Boulevard. The robbers duct taped the night-shift employee to a chair and stole money from the cash registers.
They also got away with the restaurant's 700-pound safe.
They took it to Effingham County and couldn't get it open, so they called a local locksmith. The locksmith got suspicious and called police, who arrested five men for the crime.
